Itinerary
Day 1
Sunday 21st November 2010
Depart Cheadle at 0930 touring through Derbyshire and Lincolnshire and calling at the beautiful Georgian town of Stamford with its historic streets used as the backdrop for television series, George Elliotts, Middlemarch and the film Pride and Predjudice.
We will arrive at the hotel, beautifully decorated for the festive season to be welcomed with punch and cakes. There will be time to relax before "Christmas Eve Dinner", followed by a welcome from a local speaker who will introduce us to the town and its surroundings Day 2
Monday 22nd November 2010
After enjoying a bucks fizz breakfast discover Granthams shops and town museum with exhibits associated with Margaret Thatcher and the Dambusters of WW2. Afternoon tea and mincepies will be served back at the hotel and then we will have time to rest and prepare for a full Christmas day dinner with all the trimmings followed by an "olde time" disco Day 3
Tuesday 23rd November 2010
After breakfast we will enjoy a morning visit to Melton Mowbray, best known for pork pies, Stilton cheese and its excellent Tuesday market. A demonstration of pork pie making will be given at The Olde Pork Pie Shoppe. Afterwards we will travel back to the hotel to relax before dinner followed by a quizz Day 4
Wednesday 24th November 2010
After breakfast we travel north to Hemswell, just north of Lincoln and home to Europes Largest antique centre to browse or shop and then onto the historic city of Lincoln for sightseeing or shopping. After dinner there will be dancing until midnight with live local entertainment Day 5
Thursday 25th November 2010
Today we will after breakfast and checking out be returning via Southwell and Bolsover to arrive back in Cheadle late afternoon
